Wood Group PSN
Leading the Oil and Gas Sector in HAV Management
Protecting its global workforce is a key business principle of WGPSN. It is committed to improving its core management systems to identify and control Occupational Health Risks.
WGPSN has one of the most developed HAV monitoring and recording systems within the Energy sector. Their HSE teams constantly strive to develop new ways of working which empower vibratory tool operators and deliver accurate, real time data to directly protect them in the workplace.
Our experience shows us that wherever human interaction is required – to estimate trigger time or to collate data to inform a paper-based recording system - it creates opportunities for error. WGPSN’s experience echoed this.
ATR Group developed a bespoke HAV monitoring and recording solution for WGPSN.
The system was proven to deliver:
- increased accuracy of operator trigger time – no more estimates,
- reduced non-productive time – straight through processing of data from operator to corporate HSE teams,
- real-time exposure data – operators can see when they are approaching their limits and act accordingly,
- improved data capture – system is universally complied with
- accurate tool use data – the system reports exactly what tools are used and when, greater control over tool assets – WGPSN certification and logistics system is automatically updated with timely data.
A Better HAV System for the UKCS
Our experience shows us that tool operators across the UKCS are overestimating their time on tools (based on 3 yrs of historic data across all client platforms) by c.80% on average per incidence of tool use – that’s because they’re getting their timing wrong.
Tool Operators, Subcontractors, team leaders and HSEQ teams find it difficult to interact with paper-based systems – it’s time consuming to maintain paper records, and often companies are just recording ‘guilty knowledge’.
ATR Group delivers fully outsourced HAV monitoring and recording support to corporates seeking to improve HSEQ performance with respect to managing HAV within their organisation.
We provide tactical, on the ground HAV monitoring and recording equipment, and we support corporate policy by delivering the pertinent data our clients need to inform strategic decisions and measure performance against objectives.
Our offering allows them to strip out cost, empower employees and delivers a foundation for long-term occupational health management with respect to HAV within the workforce.
