For more than twenty years, Sonsub has been developing and operating remotely operated subsea systems. These are vital in subsea field development and inspection, and repair and maintenance activities.

Sonsub has a global presence and differentiates itself by its reputation for fast and efficient deployment. Its global footprint has regional centres which maintain its own fully serviced fleet. The fleet is managed rigorously to ensure that vehicles are readily available anywhere in the world. For Sonsub, speed is of the essence.

Issue

ROVs need available, reliable and consistent power. Power to ROVs is delivered independently and the systems are run by powerful generators. Only the best equipment will do. When you are operating from a barge in deepwater in an isolated spot, it’s a major issue if a vital piece of equipment can’t be used because the power fails.

Our action

Our Plant division delivered two fully serviced, state of the art 500kVA generators to power Sonsub’s ROV fleet. The kit was hired from ATR and we provided full servicing and had the technical expertise to provide the supplementary consumables for the full duration of the project.
